Over the 27 years we've published Auxiliary magazine, dentistry has changed significantly and the content of the magazine has followed those changes.
Auxiliary has evolved its content to support dental hygienists, dental therapists and oral health therapists, in particular, as well as the clinical and business team of the dental practice. As we've completely evolved to be a magazine dedicated to Oral Hygiene, therapy, prevention, infection control and patient management, we have now equally evolved the name to OralHygiene to better reflect this shift. "Auxiliary is a name I inherited when I took over in 1994," said publisher Joseph Allbeury. "At that time, dental hygienists were relatively unknown in Australia and dental therapists were Government-trained and typically worked within the school system. As dentistry has changed and our target readership has changed, everything about the magazine has changed too, except the name. Auxiliary no longer reflects the content of the magazine or its readership, therefore, the change of name was essentially long overdue. So welcome to OralHygiene".
